Hyundai Puts Things Right: Green Hydrogen Trucks to Continue, Neither Hyundai Nor The Other Partners of The Hydrogen Ecosystem in Switzerland Intend to Stop The Existing Initiative

Hyundai puts things right: Green hydrogen trucks to continue, neither Hyundai nor the other partners of the hydrogen ecosystem in Switzerland intend to stop the existing initiative.
As falsely communicated in some media, neither Hyundai nor the other partners of the hydrogen ecosystem in Switzerland intend to stop the existing initiative.
The private-sector and non-subsidized initiative has been successfully operating for two years. In the meantime, the hydrogen trucks have covered more than 5 million kilometers in customer use.
In the short and medium term, the unpredictable distortions on the energy market will affect the availability of electricity from sustainable energy sources and thus also the production costs of green hydrogen.
Nevertheless, all players in the Swiss hydrogen ecosystem are sticking to the targets, pushing ahead with further expansion and developing solutions to adapt the overall system to the new situation.
For the actors, this means in concrete terms:
Hydrogen production capacities will be further expanded. A new production facility will go into operation in eastern Switzerland before the end of the year.
In Switzerland, eleven publicly accessible filling stations currently offer hydrogen, and three more locations are about to go into operation.
Hyundai is sticking to the rollout in Switzerland and continues to offer hydrogen trucks to its customers. Expansion in other European countries continues as planned.
All partners and actors of this H2 ecosystem strongly believe that fuel cell technology and hydrogen mobility are part of the solution to stop climate change, enable the energy transition and achieve the goals of “net zero”.
