Tuần này, Chủ tịch kiêm Tổng Giám đốc CHBC Katrina Fritz đã tham gia cùng các nhà lãnh đạo ngành tại Hội nghị Động cơ Hydro Bắc Mỹ 2026 (North American Hydrogen Engine Conference) tổ chức tại Detroit, Michigan. Sự kiện do Hydrogen Engine Alliance - North America (H2EA-NA) triệu tập, quy tụ các chuyên gia để thảo luận về con đường thương mại hóa của công nghệ hydro đốt trong (H2-ICE).
Tại phiên thảo luận "Sản xuất, Xử lý và Chính sách", bà Fritz cùng các diễn giả Andre Boehman, Shafiq Bari, Matt Thorington và Dave Edwards đã tập trung vào các câu hỏi then chốt quyết định sự mở rộng quy mô của H2-ICE trong vận tải thương mại. Các nội dung chính bao gồm việc liệu cơ quan quản lý có công nhận hiệu suất phát thải thấp của H2-ICE với tư cách là ZEV hoặc gần ZEV hay không, những yêu cầu để hoàn thiện hạ tầng sản xuất, xử lý và lưu trữ phục vụ triển khai thị trường, cũng như liệu hydro địa chất và các mô hình sản xuất phân tán có thể giúp giảm chi phí đủ để cạnh tranh hay không. Hydrogen Engine Alliance advances dialogue on hydrogen combustion in Detroit

This week, CHBC President & CEO Katrina Fritz joined fellow industry leaders in Detroit, Michigan, at the 2026 Fall North American Hydrogen Engine Conference. The event, convened by the Hydrogen Engine Alliance - North America (H2EA-NA), brought together experts to discuss the path to commercialisation for hydrogen combustion (H2-ICE) technology.
On the "Production, Handling and Policy" panel, Fritz joined speakers Andre Boehman, Shafiq Bari, Matt Thorington and Dave Edwards to address the difficult questions determining the scaling of H2-ICE in commercial transportation. Key topics included whether regulators will recognise H2-ICE low-emissions performance with a ZEV or near-ZEV designation, what it takes to mature production, handling and storage infrastructure for market rollout, and whether geologic hydrogen and distributed production models can bring costs down enough to compete. The panel also examined what will be required for Michigan and other states to back hydrogen transportation at scale.
The event featured representatives from the University of California, Riverside, along with CHBC members Bosch Hydrogen Energy and Cummins Inc., as well as Daimler Truck AG, Isuzu Motors, Kubota Corporation, PHINIA and Volvo Group. CHBC extended its thanks to H2EA-NA for convening an open discussion on the tradeoffs of cost, infrastructure and policy.
