On the 9th, the Construction Future Council (Chairman Tatsuji Suzuki) of the Ibaraki Prefectural Construction Industry Association (Chairman Kenmitsu Ishizu) held the "Sandpit Cleanup Operation" as a social contribution project at Aoyama Children's Garden in Hokota City, Ibaraki Prefecture. Sifted and disinfected sand was sprinkled on children aged 4 to 6 years old, and they were seated in the driver's seat of a small hydraulic excavator = photo. We donated the "Ibaraki Construction Picture Book", a visual book that summarizes the work of the infrastructure and construction industry in the prefecture.

The sandbox cleanup operation was the 7th time, and it was the first time in 3 years that it could not be held under the corona. Twenty-two kindergarten children participated, including Vice Chairman Yuichiro Naito, who is in charge of community contribution activities of the council, Masayoshi Nemoto, chairman of the Community Contribution Activities Committee, and members of member companies.

Chairman Nemoto said, "I wasn't able to work under Corona. I want you to become familiar with heavy machinery and have good memories." Three small hydraulic excavators and a sieving device are available. I built a sandy mountain in the garden. The kindergarten children appeared wearing a helmet with a sticker of "Aoyama Construction" using the name of the kindergarten. He finished the work and he asked, "Is it hard to build a lot of houses?" "Why is the asphalt so hot?"

The garden side told the children about the contents of the event, placed a picture book with heavy machinery in the nursery room, and explained with pictures until the garden building was completed. "Playing with sand and water is civil engineering, building blocks are architecture," said Takatsukasa Komatsuzaki. It is said that there are children who tell us the names of heavy machinery running on the road and children who talk about construction sites in the city. He thanked the Construction Future Council for its efforts.
