Geo Holdings announced on April 23 that it will install solar power generation equipment using an off-site PPA (power purchase agreement) model at a total of 197 stores in the Tohoku, Chugoku and Chugoku regions. Chubu starts May 1. The Tohoku/Chugoku region will partner with Enaris (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) and Enaris Power Marketing (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), and the Chubu region will partner with Sinanen (Minato- ku, Tokyo).

Introducing external PPA services provided by Enerys and Sinanen. In addition to the electricity generated by the solar power plant, the shortfall will be compensated by fossil-free certificates, making this almost 100% renewable energy. The expected annual CO2 emission reduction effect is a total of 10,181 tons.

In the Tohoku area, 134 stores will be supplied with electricity from 6 solar power plants. The total output of solar panels is 594kW, the total output connected to the grid is 297kW. Annual electricity generation is estimated at 1,295,884 kWh and it is expected that approximately 7.6% of the store's electricity consumption will be provided by solar energy.

In the China region, 59 stores will be supplied with electricity from 10 solar power plants. The total panel capacity is 1000.67kW and the grid-connected capacity is 495kW. Annual electricity generation is expected to be approximately 1,033,626 kWh and it is expected that approximately 13.9% of the store's electricity consumption will be provided by solar energy.
In the Chubu area, a solar power plant will supply electricity to four stores. The panel output is 79.2kW and the grid output is 49.5kW. Annual electricity generation is expected to be approximately 103,280 kWh, and approximately 16% of the store's electricity consumption is expected to be provided by solar energy.
GEO Group operates more than 2,000 stores in Japan and abroad. This is the first time we are trying to reduce CO2 emissions by introducing renewable energy, and we will consider expanding the area after verifying the impact of introducing renewable energy in three regions . Based on these results, we will develop specific CO2 reduction targets.
