Toward the Realization of a Floating Offshore Wind Farm
In April 2022, Goto Floating Wind Farm G.K. announced that in April 2022, for the first time in Japan, the public offering occupancy plan for the "Goto City Offshore Wind Power Project", which has been planned as a floating offshore wind power plant based on the Renewable Energy Sea Area Utilization Law * 1. After receiving the certification, we proceeded with the approval procedures for the exclusive use of the sea area necessary for the installation work of the power generation equipment.
At the quay yard in Fukue Port, Goto City, the first of the eight floating units to be installed this time has been completed and loaded onto a semi-submersible spud barge*2 (ship name: Float Raiser). On October 8, 2022 (Saturday), we will depart from Fukue Port for the waters off Kabashima to start the wind turbine assembly work at sea.
We will continue to proceed with construction work as a floating offshore wind farm within the promotion area, aiming to start commercial operation in January 2024.
