This is Cosmo Eco Power's first external PPA project. Part of the electricity and environmental value generated by the "Himegami Wind Park" wind power plant operated by the company will be supplied to Panasonic Corporation through PEX for about 15 years. The power plant is located at the southern foot of Mount Himekami in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture and has a capacity of 18MW (9 2MW wind turbines). It went into operation in April 2019.
Along with the external PPAs offering, we have moved from feed-in concessional pricing (FIT) to feed-in incentive fee (FIP) from 1 June. Cosmo Eco Power will be responsible for developing, submitting power generation plans and paying imbalance fees. Electricity not provided by PEX will be traded on the Japan Electricity Exchange (JEPX).
Cosmo Eco Power is developing onshore wind power projects with a total capacity of about 611MW. About 27MW in Aomori Prefecture in 2024, about 6MW in Shizuoka Prefecture in 2025, about 15MW in Ibaraki Prefecture in 2027, about 95MW and 52MW in Hokkaido, and about 56MW in Aomori Prefecture in 2030. The company will continue to review external PPAs using wind power plants.
