He manages the Japan Federation of Architectural Business Associations (Nichijiren), drawing on his experience as Chairman of the Kyoto Prefecture (Kyoto City) Architectural Business Association. While working to strengthen our financial foundation, we will also focus on solving environmental issues and contributing to society. We strongly believe that establishing business laws for architects' offices in the Architects Act and the obligation to join the association have been our "fervent aspirations since our founding." We will discuss further and seek a better way of existence.

Mr. Hiroya Ueno
-- What are your wishes when you are appointed?
"There is a lot of work to be done. I want to make this an industry where honest people do not cheat. The best thing to do is to rebuild the finances of the Japanese Federation and the (prefectural) committees, and we need to secure stable finances to become independent. It is necessary that Kyoto City does not fall into a state of alarm by contracting business. Although the work of registering an architect's office is an income, it is possible that the unit price will sink into the red. We demand that public works projects be awarded at low prices. The idea that cheaper is better no longer works in today's world.
"From April 2025, all newly constructed homes and buildings will be required to comply with energy efficiency standards. There is an urgent need to provide information that all members can understand. Technical support will be an advantage for members. There is a shift from scrap and construction to reuse and conversion. As an architect's office, we have a heavy responsibility but we also have high expectations. A working group (WG) will also address the issue of wood-based materials.''
--What is your view of the legal system?
``The three architectural design associations (Japan Federation of Architects, Japan Architectural Federation, and Japan Institute of Architects) jointly requested the establishment of a business law, and the revised Architects Act was enacted in 2014. However, there are still gaps. Anyone can open an architect's office. If it is small, anyone can design, and there are cases where there is no contract. The problem is the founder's qualifications, written contracts, and exclusive business rights. To reach a consensus between the three architectural design associations and the five architectural associations (including the Japan Institute of Architects and the Japan Construction Industry Federation), then approach the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. We understand that mandatory membership is a big obstacle. However, if that happens, he will be able to become a director himself. We cannot ignore ``Nishiki no Gobana.''
--Look to the future.
``DX is developing. BIM must also become popular. It will change even more when AI comes. We want to move forward to catch up with the trend of the times while inheriting important traditions of the past. We also need to recruit young people. everyone. We will continue to support the youth committee and support the establishment of a women's working group.''
