“Green Curtain” at Chubu Electric Power Head Office / Group development toward decarbonization

Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. has started making its customary "green curtain" on the wall on the south side of its head office. The idea is to place climbing plants near the windows to create shade, reduce the power consumption of air conditioners, and lead to decarbonization and energy conservation. Seven employees of the company's special subsidiary Chuden Wing (Nagoya City, President Shinji Furuta) planted a total of 268 seedlings of morning glory and bitter gourd in the flower bed on the first floor. It is expected to grow thickly from the end of June to the beginning of July.

Installation of green curtains began in 1992, and this is the 32nd time. Seedlings were planted on the 13th.
This time, 168 morning glory plants and 100 bitter melon plants were planted, and a total of five 18-square-meter nets were prepared for the vines to grow on.
