24th PV Business Seminar
report!
This time, a total of five experts from industry and government gave lectures under the title of "Decarbonization seen from the ground, two familiar business perspectives". It was held in a hybrid format that combined real venues and online distribution, and attracted about 250 participants, mainly from solar EPCs and power generation companies. Although the specific themes of each speaker differed, the common theme was how to respond to and overcome the energy crisis facing the protracted Russia-Ukraine war.
Mr. Ushio of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry explained in detail the points of future renewable energy policies, saying that rebuilding a stable energy supply is an urgent task. Mr. Terada of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's Bureau of Environment gave a lecture on the "mandatory installation of solar panels" ordinance, which was passed while attracting national attention, and related measures. It seems that the interest of the participants was high because it is expected to spread to local governments nationwide in the future.
Yukie Yamashita of office SOTO, who is familiar with the movements of electric power companies, points out that PPAs are becoming increasingly important as a countermeasure against soaring electricity prices. Issues to be addressed in the future were clarified for both consumers and electricity retailers. Mr. Suzuki of Xsol positions the present age as "the era of crisis" and proposes concrete measures to overcome it. He touched on the movement to mandate the installation of solar power, and also introduced products for the residential sector. Mr. Yamatoki of Meteor Control Japan, based on his knowledge of remote monitoring systems, showed that digitization of operations is essential to further improve the performance of power plants.

Free social gathering. Surrounded by a luxurious buffet, the participants, including the speakers, enjoyed networking with each other.
