Solar carport for 48 cars at PPA in Yachiyo Town, Ibaraki Prefecture

     Yachiyo Town, Ibaraki Prefecture, Joyo Green Energy (Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture), a renewable energy company affiliated with Joyo Bank, and afterFIT (Minato Ward, Tokyo) signed an on-site power purchase agreement (PPA) at the Yachiyo Town Office. ) model solar carport (parking lot type solar power generation equipment) was installed, and power supply started on April 27.

     48 solar carports equipped with 240 solar panels were installed on the 746.16 m2 site of the staff parking lot of the government office. The annual power generation is expected to be 145,266 kWh, and the annual CO2 emission reduction effect will be 58.4 tons. The generated electricity is self-consumed, covering 24.6% of the electricity used. The PPA operator is Joyo Green Energy. AfterFIT is in charge of design, construction, and maintenance management.

     Yachiyo Town has declared the realization of a "zero carbon city" aiming for net zero CO2 emissions by 2050, and is promoting the decarbonization of the region. As part of this, in June 2022, afterFTI signed an "Agreement on Cooperation to Realize a Zero Carbon City".

     Joyo Bank established Joyo Green Energy in July 2022 in response to the growing momentum for carbon neutrality and the need for ESG investment. Joyo Green Energy will start a PPA project in February 2023, and the Yachiyocho Solar Carport will be the first project.
