(VNF) - The People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has sent an official dispatch to the Ministry of Transport about considering the inclusion of Go Gang airport in the airport development plan.

Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has requested the Ministry of Transport to consider and agree with the province's proposal to propose the Prime Minister to add the planning of Vung Tau airport at Go Gang to the development master plan. system of airports and airports nationwide in the period of 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.
Go Gang Island has a total natural area of about 1,389 hectares. Go Gang Airport is proposed to be planned at Go Gang Island, Long Son Commune, City. Vung Tau, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province with a total area of more than 248ha.
Estimated total investment to complete the construction of Go Gang airport is more than 9,000 billion VND, of which the cost of site clearance is 1,258 billion VND.
This airport will have the function of exploitation, operating as a dual-use airport serving domestic air transportation, helicopter flying, taxiing, tourism, oil and gas exploitation, newly built in the area. Go Gang area, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
According to the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, the transformation of Go Gang airport from a specialized function to a dual-use function will maximize the task of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security of Ba Ria province. - Vung Tau.

Not to mention, a private enterprise is asking Ba Ria - Vung Tau province to build another airport in Con Dao district.
