AGC and Nozawa develop a method for installing solar panels on the outer wall-improving the energy self-sufficiency rate of buildings

On November 17, AGC announced that it had developed the "Asrock Rail Fastener Solar Panel Installation Method" (provisional name) in collaboration with Nozawa, a wall material manufacturer, that enables power generation on the walls of buildings. For practical use in buildings such as offices, we will conduct trial sales and aim to start sales in 2023.

In this construction method, solar panels are installed on extruded cement boards that are mainly used as wall materials for offices. We have already confirmed the safety against natural disasters such as earthquakes and winds, and we are preparing to start full-scale sales in the future.

Nozawa is a company that manufactures and sells extrusion cement products (Asrock, lightweight exterior wall materials for housing), slates, non-combustible admixtures, fire-resistant coating materials (Corvex), etc. On the other hand, the AGC Group is working to improve the energy self-sufficiency rate of the building by promoting power generation on the outer wall of the building through the solar power generation glass "Sunjoule" that generates power in the glass part of the building and its installation method. .

Sunjoule is a photovoltaic glass that is based on a laminated glass type and is constructed and sold by the AGC Group. It is possible to create energy from the glass of the canopy and facade by enclosing solar cells between the glass. Sales began in 2000, and it is said that more than 250 projects have been completed.

This time, we have applied for a patent for the "Asrock Rail Fastener Solar Panel Installation Method" (provisional name) developed by utilizing Nozawa's know-how in the exterior wall panel business and the AGC Group's know-how in the glass construction and solar power generation glass business.
