On the 3rd, Sagami Railway decided on a civil engineering construction company for the "Sagami Railway Main Line (near Tsurugamine Station) continuous grade separation project". Section 1 is a JV of Shimizu Corporation, Penta-Ocean Construction, Konoike Construction, Tsuboi Industry, and Nara Construction; Section 2 is a JV of Obayashi Corporation, Tekken Corporation, NB Construction, Mabuchi Construction, and Keisei Corporation; Section 3 is a JV of Maeda Construction, Nishimatsu Construction, and Toyo. Construction and Matsuo Komuten JV were decided respectively. A contract is expected to be signed in November. In April, we conducted a nomination competition estimate match by a comprehensive evaluation method. The proposed amount has not been disclosed. Construction is scheduled to begin in the second half of this fiscal year, with completion targeted for the end of fiscal 2033. The total project cost is expected to be approximately 78.4 billion yen.

For the electrical work (all project sections), Nippon Signal was selected for signaling, EXEO Group for communications, Nippon Densetsu Kogyo for electric lines, and Tokyu Techno System for power and substations. A contractor will be selected for track construction (all sections of the project) in the future.

The joint project plans to underground about 2.1 kilometers of up and down lines, including Tsurugamine Station (Asahi Ward, Yokohama City), and remove 10 railroad crossings. Yokohama City will be the business entity, and Sagami Railway will be the implementation entity, including construction. The name of the line is the Sagami Railway Main Line (near Tsurugamine Station). The starting point is 4 Nishiya, Hodogaya-ku, and the ending point is 2 Futamatagawa, Asahi-ku. The length of the city planning decision area is about 3,240 meters, of which about 2,130 meters is underground. There are two types of structure: underground type and surface type. Tsurugamine Station will be installed in the basement of Asahi Ward Shirane 1 and Tsurugamine 2.

Under the plan, new tracks will be installed under the existing tracks, and railway facilities (railroad crossings) will be removed from the intersections of roads and railways. Ten crossings, Tsurugamine No. 1 to No. 9 and Nishiya No. 3, will be removed. Nine railroad crossings other than Tsurugamine No. 7 railroad crossing are in a state of not opening.

Section 1 is in charge of circular tunnels, box-shaped tunnels, retaining walls, etc. from the starting point to the vicinity of the Tsurugamine No. 8 railroad crossing. Section 2 is Tsurugamine Station. Section 3 will be in charge of the box-shaped tunnel and retaining wall near the Tsurugamine No. 8 railroad crossing to the end point.

According to the plans that have been announced so far, the main structure is an underground type. The Tsurugamine Station platform will be newly constructed underground. The circular tunnel section is about 1.7 km, the box-shaped tunnel section is about 0.2 km, the retaining wall section is about 0.7 km, and the station section is about 0.2 km. The circular tunnel section (approximately 11 meters in diameter) will be constructed using the shield construction method, while the box-shaped tunnel section (approximately 11 to 18 meters wide and approximately 8 meters high) will be constructed using the cut-and-cover method. The section between stations will be about 17 to 21 meters wide and 13 to 22 meters high, and an open-cut construction method is planned.

In the Sotetsu coalition project, the preceding 1.8 km elevation between Hoshikawa and Tennocho stations (Hodogaya Ward) was completed in November 2018.
