X-Elio has connected a 16MW solar project in Japan to the grid.

The Sodegaura solar plant in Japan, which cost $55.71m to construct, has been financed by investment banks ING and Societe Generale.

A delegation from X-Elio recently visited the PV plant to celebrate the commissioning.

X-Elio CEO Lluís Noguera, along with X-Elio chief operating officer Fernando Lacaci and country manager in Japan, Luis Perezagua visited the plant.

Noguera said: “We will continue to work to identify and develop new projects that will enable Japan to accelerate its energy transition to clean energy, supporting its ‘Beyond-Zero’ CO2 reduction roadmap and strengthening our position in the country.”
