Construction of "Umekita Phase 2" is underway on the north side of JR Osaka Station (Osaka City)
On the 29th, developers such as Mitsubishi Estate and Orix Real Estate of the redevelopment area "Umekita Phase 2" on the north side of JR Osaka Station announced that they have established a management company with core functions to create new industries. Two general incorporated associations, Umekita Future Innovation Organization (U-FINO), is responsible for event planning and operation, and Co-Creation Generator (CCG) is responsible for hardware aspects such as facility management and operation. Osaka Pref./City, Kansai Economic Federation, etc. will also participate in U-FINO, and the public and private sectors will work together to create innovation.
Two corporations were established on the 13th. U-FINO's representative director is Mr. Norio Nakazawa, who has served as a special researcher at the Daiwa Institute of Research and head of the San Francisco office of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). Some of the facilities with core functions are scheduled to open in conjunction with the pre-opening of the town around the summer of 2024.
