One month has passed since the Noto Peninsula earthquake struck the Hokuriku region on New Year's Day. Thanks to diligent restoration efforts by Hokuriku Electric Transmission and Distribution, there is some hope that the outage will be resolved. The outstanding feature of this earthquake response is that we were able to quickly establish a comprehensive system of cooperation, including national governments and relevant organizations. Behind this is a “collaborative disaster recovery plan” created based on lessons learned from previous long-term power outages. This is actually the first time that support has been sent to a large area from other regions under this plan. One concerned person commented on this response saying: ``Thorough preparation in advance helped us survive in an emergency situation.''

Smooth cooperation helped restore the disaster area (Staff from Hokuriku Transmission and Distribution, TEPCO PG and Chubu Power Grid had a meeting at the disaster recovery facility in Nakanoto Town, Ishikawa Prefecture, on January 4)
