Toshiba, concentration measurement for each gas type / World's first ultra-compact machine in real time

Toshiba has developed the world's first measurement technology that can measure the concentration of each gas in real time in a real environment such as a factory for a mixed gas containing three or more types of carbon dioxide (CO2). The use of this technology is expected to improve the efficiency of CO2 resource recovery technologies, including methanation, and improve the accuracy of emissions data through direct measurement of greenhouse gases. In the future, we aim to put the technology into practical use in 2026 through repeated demonstrations.

In order to accelerate decarbonization, technology development such as "P2C", which electrolyzes methanation and CO2 and recycles them into chemical products, etc., is underway. In order to improve the efficiency of these processes, it is necessary to measure the concentration in the mixed gas discharged from a business site in real time and control the reaction conditions so that they are always optimal.
