Tokyo Metro will begin construction work on the Namboku Line extension. The line will be approximately 2.5km long, starting from the newly built Shinagawa Station (tentative name), passing near Hirokanedai Station and connecting with Hirokane-Takanawa Station. Expected construction cost is 131 billion yen, with opening scheduled for the mid-2030s. It is expected to improve access to Shinagawa Station and Haneda Airport, where the Chuo Shinkansen Line departs and to, as well as where there are multiple routes. On the 18th, the company announced a public competitive bidding process to determine the contractor to construct the main works.
