Miyagi Prefecture has revised its plan to extend the bridge's lifespan. The planning period is 10 years from 2024 to 2033. Among all bridges (1,774 bridges) with a length of 2m or more, including box culverts, there are 560 bridges that require measures. The planned investment amount is expected to be approximately 29 billion yen.
The fourth plan is compiled based on the results of the second periodic inspection, completed in fiscal year 2011. We will carry out repairs on 352 bridges assessed as being in the early stages of operation (solid category iii) over a period of six years starting from FY2013. We will complete the repair of 113 bridges in FY24-26 and 239 bridges in FY27-29.30-33 Will planned repairs for 208 bridges during the preventive maintenance phase (Durability Class II). 2.9 billion yen will be invested annually to repair damaged parts, make expansion and contraction devices waterproof, and make floorboards waterproof. Over 10 years, 25.5 billion yen will be spent on repairs and 3.5 billion yen will be invested in inspections.
The plan assumes that if the project is converted to preventive maintenance, the project cost will be about 248 billion yen over the next 50 years. The expected cost is about 547 billion yen, or about 55% (about 299 billion yen). Using new technology will reduce costs by about 5% (about 11.8 billion yen) compared to conventional methods. Reduce maintenance and repair costs
In the future, we will accumulate inspection results into a database to improve the accuracy of failure prediction and lead to effective maintenance management. By actively using AI diagnostics and drone inspections, we will further reduce costs. and save labor.
As of March 2014, about 45% of the bridges managed by the province had been completed over the previous 50 years, increasing rapidly to about 60% over 10 years and 77% over 20 years. The goal is to standardize grace periods. Switch to systematic preventative maintenance and management.
