OKINAWA CITY/DEVELOPMENT OF BASIC PLANNING FOR DEVELOPMENT OF MULTI-PURPOSE INDOOR FACILITIES, BUSINESS METHOD IS DBO OR BTO

    OKama City has drawn up a basic plan to develop an indoor multi-purpose facility (gymnasium) in Noda, Kita Ward. The total area of ​​the facility is approximately 13,300 square meters and the estimated cost of the project is 14,579 million yen (tax included). The project will adopt the DBO (Design, Build, Operate) method or the BTO (Build, Transfer, Operate) PFI method, which is expected to make effective use of the operators' know-how private enterprise.

    With the construction of the new gymnasium, the city aims to ``revitalize the town and foster a spirit of solidarity through sports'', thereby: ▽ Nurturing people's pride ▽ Expanding the number number of people staying overnight and interacting with people ▽ Area around Future Fureai Park Kitanagase The project is expected to create vitality and vibrancy in the town, expanding opportunities for residents and provincial residents participate in sports, while strengthening natural disaster prevention functions.

    The construction site is the former Kitanagase Mizuho Juza site (approximately 15,000 square meters), which is city-owned land near Noda 4 in Kita Ward. It will have competition function, viewing function, hotel function, management function, communication function, facility management function, etc. The competition function will include the main arena (about 2,600 square meters ) and secondary arena (approximately 1,000 square meters), while viewing functions will include a central court with more than 5,000 seats (approximately 1,700 square meters). The total area is expected to be 13,300 square meters.

    The estimated project cost for the new arena is 538 million yen for survey, design, construction supervision, etc. and 11.319 billion yen for construction work (including external work, solar power generation equipment , etc). Other costs include 89 million yen to repair surrounding roads, 1.093 billion yen for equipment procurement and 1.54 billion yen to improve pedestrian walkways, for a total of 14.579 billion yen.
