The companies have signed separate pacts on the sidelines of a state visit of Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto to the UAE, Masdar said on Friday.

Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the UAE group and its partner will co-develop a photovoltaic (PV) project that was secured by Masdar in a domestic tender in 2023. The Jatigede floating plant will be installed at the Jatigede Dam reservoir in West Java province and is expected to be put on stream in 2027. Work on the scheme will begin this year.

Masdar and PT PLN have also signed a Principle of Agreement to explore options for expanding Masdar’s 145-MW Cirata floating PV park, which was brought live in late 2023. Located in West Java, the plant is now producing electricity for around 50,000 homes.

Feasibility studies for the site’s expansion have been successfully completed following an initial agreement for the initiative in 2023, Abu Dhabi-based Masdar said.
