The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is planning to open a new hotel in Takamatsu City, according to Kyodo News. The opening is scheduled to coincide with the 2025 World Exposition to be held in Osaka.

This would be the second Mandarin-branded hotel in Japan, following the one in Nihonbashi, Tokyo that opened in 2005.

The Takamatsu location covers a 5,000 sqm site on the northern side of the Takamatsu Port Terminal Building.
