The Kazakh tycoon wants to invest in 2 highways connecting Ho Chi Minh City
(Dan Tri) - President Kusto Yerkin Tatishev hopes to be able to participate in two expressway projects, including the expansion of the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong route and the construction of the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai route through the form of PPP.
Talking to the press in Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of August 10, Kusto Group founder and Chairman Yerkin Tatishev said that his group is very interested in the fields of infrastructure, energy, and real estate in Vietnam. Kusto can cooperate with  Coteccons  to invest in infrastructure construction through the public-private partnership (PPP) model.

Mr. Tatishev said that he is interested in two projects on the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway and the expansion of the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong route. "We will spend time discussing in the coming months, hopefully we can participate in these projects," said the Kazakh businessman.

Kusto Group is a Singapore-based multidisciplinary investment group with operations in 10 countries around the world. Mr. Tatishev is personally rated by  Forbes  as one of the most influential businessmen in Kazakhstan.

In Vietnam, Kusto is famous for its investment in Coteccons Construction Joint Stock Company (stock code: CTD) and high-end real estate project Diamond Island in the old district 2 area, HCMC. The total value of Kusto's investments in Vietnam, according to Mr. Tatishev, has surpassed the billion USD mark.

Mr. Yerkin Tatishev also revealed that he was excited to hear that the Vietnamese Government plans to build 1 million  social housing  in the next 7 years. He himself very much wishes to contribute to this great plan of Vietnam.

(Dân trí) - Chủ tịch Kusto Yerkin Tatishev hy vọng có thể tham gia vào hai dự án cao tốc gồm mở rộng tuyến TPHCM - Trung Lương và xây dựng tuyến TPHCM - Mộc Bài thông qua hình thức PPP.

Trao đổi với báo chí tại TPHCM chiều 10/8, nhà sáng lập, Chủ tịch Kusto Group Yerkin Tatishev cho biết tập đoàn của ông rất quan tâm đến các lĩnh vực hạ tầng, năng lượng, bất động sản tại Việt Nam. Kusto có thể kết hợp cùng Coteccons tham gia đầu tư xây dựng hạ tầng thông qua mô hình đối tác công tư (PPP).

Ông Tatishev cho biết đang quan tâm đến 2 dự án cao tốc TPHCM - Mộc Bài và mở rộng tuyến TPHCM - Trung Lương. "Chúng tôi sẽ dành thời gian để thảo luận trong những tháng tới, hy vọng có thể tham gia những dự án này", doanh nhân người Kazakhstan cho biết. 

Kusto Group là tập đoàn đầu tư đa ngành có trụ sở tại Singapore, hoạt động ở 10 quốc gia trên thế giới. Cá nhân ông Tatishev được Forbes đánh giá là một trong những doanh nhân có ảnh hưởng nhất ở Kazakhstan.

Tại Việt Nam, Kusto nổi tiếng với khoản đầu tư vào Công ty cổ phần Xây dựng Coteccons (mã chứng khoán: CTD) và dự án bất động sản cao cấp Đảo Kim Cương ở khu vực quận 2 cũ, TPHCM. Tổng giá trị các khoản đầu tư tại Việt Nam của Kusto theo ông Tatishev đã vượt mốc tỷ USD.

Ông Yerkin Tatishev cũng tiết lộ rất hào hứng khi biết Chính phủ Việt Nam có kế hoạch xây dựng 1 triệu căn nhà ở xã hội trong 7 năm tới. Bản thân ông rất mong muốn đóng góp vào kế hoạch lớn này của Việt Nam.

Doanh nhân người Kazakhstan đánh giá các dự án nhà ở xã hội hấp dẫn vì quy mô có thể lên tới hàng trăm ha, lớn hơn nhiều so với những dự án phân khúc trung, cao cấp mà công ty con Kusto Home đã thực hiện tại Việt Nam. Tuy nhiên, thách thức đối với sản phẩm nhà xã hội là giá bán thấp hơn các phân khúc khác. 

Dù vậy, ông cho rằng với khó khăn chung nói trên, việc chưa có nhiều chủ đầu tư tại Việt Nam quan tâm thị trường bất động sản cũng mang lại lợi ích ít cạnh tranh. Bản thân ông cho rằng đã làm kinh doanh thì phải giải những bài toán khó, ít người làm thì mới thú vị. 

Ông cũng dự đoán trong 10 năm tới, xu hướng phát triển của Việt Nam là đô thị hóa với khoảng 20 triệu người sẽ chuyển đến sống ở đô thị. Dựa trên dự báo này, công ty sẽ đầu tư vào các ngành nghề liên quan như bất động sản, xây dựng, giáo dục, quản lý chất thải.

Ông chủ Kusto cũng làm rõ mối quan hệ với Coteccons được nhiều nhà đầu tư Việt Nam quan tâm. Theo đó, ông khẳng định Kusto và Coteccons là hai doanh nghiệp độc lập với nhau. Kusto là cổ đông lớn với tỷ lệ sở hữu trực tiếp 17% cổ phần tại Coteccons đồng thời cũng là một khách hàng của nhà thầu này. 

Với các dự án bất động sản tại Việt Nam, Kusto cũng lựa chọn nhà thầu xây dựng theo đúng quy trình thông thường và Coteccons chỉ thắng thầu khi đáp ứng các tiêu chí, đảm bảo lợi ích hài hòa của cả hai bên. "Tất nhiên, Kusto và Coteccons có thể cùng đầu tư một số dự án", ông Tatishev nói. Trong vai trò cổ đông, Kusto sẵn sàng hỗ trợ nếu Coteccons muốn mở rộng ra thị trường xây dựng ở nước ngoài.

The Kazakh businessman considers social housing projects attractive because the scale can be up to hundreds of hectares, much larger than the mid- and high-end projects that the subsidiary Kusto Home has implemented at present. Vietnam. However, the challenge for social housing products is the lower selling price than other segments.

However, he said that with the aforementioned difficulties, the fact that not many investors in Vietnam are interested in the real estate market also bring about less competitive benefits. He himself thinks that when doing business, it is necessary to solve difficult problems, but few people do it to be interesting.

He also predicted that in the next 10 years, Vietnam's development trend is urbanization with about 20 million people moving to live in urban areas. Based on this forecast, the company will invest in related industries such as real estate, construction, education, waste management.

Mr. Kusto also clarified that the relationship with Coteccons is of interest to many Vietnamese investors. Accordingly, he affirmed that Kusto and Coteccons are two independent businesses. Kusto is a major shareholder with direct ownership of 17% of shares in Coteccons and is also a client of this contractor.

With real estate projects in Vietnam, Kusto also selects construction contractors according to the normal process and Coteccons only wins the bid when it meets the criteria, ensuring the harmonious interests of both parties. "Of course, Kusto and Coteccons can jointly invest in some projects," Tatishev said. As a shareholder, Kusto is ready to support if Coteccons wants to expand into the overseas construction market.
