On the 8th, the Gifusan Prefecture No. 1 Tunnel (provisional name) of the Tokai Kanjo Expressway, which the Chubu Regional Development Bureau is constructing in Gifu Prefecture, passed through, and a penetration ceremony was held inside the tunnel pit in Hikosaka, Gifu City. Penetration blasting, penetrating point street beginning, kagami biraki, etc. were performed. Fukuda Gumi is in charge of the construction of the Tokai Ring Gifuyama Prefecture No. 1 Tunnel East Area Construction, and Nishimatsu Construction is in charge of the West Area Construction.
At the ceremony, Director Inada and others pressed the switch for penetration blasting. When the penetration was confirmed, the builder reported the penetration to Yoshihiro Yonemura, director of the Gifu National Highway Office.

The Gifusan Prefectural No. 1 Tunnel, which is the longest in the western section of the Tokai Kanjo Expressway, is a mountain tunnel with a length of 4,931 meters. The work began in June 2018, and was divided into a 2,330-meter long east section (Nishifukase, Yamagata City) and a 2,601-meter long west section (Shirotaji, Gifu City), and excavation was carried out from both ends. The section between Yamagata IC and Ono-Kobe IC, including the tunnel, is scheduled to open in 2023.
