Chubu Electric Power announced on the 21st that it will start hiring "specialist employees" from April 2023 as part of its career recruitment. This will partially introduce a "job-type" personnel system that employs and treats employees with clearly defined job descriptions, and remuneration varies greatly according to expertise and results. President Kingo Hayashi explained the aim, saying, "In order to accelerate the provision of new value sought by local communities and customers, it is necessary to acquire human resources with advanced and specialized knowledge and skills."
From April, specialist employees will be hired by three companies: Chubu Electric Power, Chubu Electric Power Grid, and Chubu Electric Miraise. The fields are first assumed to be the global business domain and the digital transformation (DX) domain. Job grades are set based on job descriptions that describe job content and expected results, and evaluations and remuneration amounts are determined.
