The next working session of Pacific Group and Kawasaki Corporation with the leaders of Vung Tau City
On September 27, 2024, Mr. Mitsuhiko Okada, General Director of Kawasaki Motors Vietnam Co Ltd, Ms. Miho Nishida, Chief Representative of Kawasaki Trading Co Ltd, Mr. Le Ngoc Anh Minh, Executive Chairman of Pacific Group Co Ltd and representatives of the Vietnam Jet Ski Partners had a next working session with the leaders of Vung Tau City People's Committee on the initiative to organize an international jet ski competition in Vung Tau City.
On behalf of the working delegation, Mr. Mitsuhiko Okada, General Director of Kawasaki Motors Vietnam, introduced the overall proposal to organize an international jet ski race in Vung Tau to create a unique tourism highlight, attract international tourists and create a new sports tourism product for the coastal city. Currently, there are two main international organizations in the world for jet ski racing, including IJSBA (International Jetski Sport Association) and UIM (Union Internationale Motonautique). Based on his many years of experience managing Kawasaki Group in Thailand and having a good feeling about Vung Tau coastal city, Mr. Okada wishes to jointly create an international jet ski tourism sports playground in Vung Tau coastal city to promote sports, tourism and form a jet ski sports community. With Kawasaki's global Jetski brand, owning a customer base and prestigious associations in this sport, Mr. Okada proposed to the City's leaders to coordinate in organizing annual events and with Kawasaki's platform and ecosystem as a premise for forming a community with other global Jetski brands.
On behalf of Vung Tau City People's Committee, Mr. Hoang Vu Thanh, Chairman of the City highly appreciated the proposal from Kawasaki Group and hoped that Kawasaki and its partner Pacific Group would deploy a detailed plan for the two sides to meet online, after which the City's leaders would ask for permission from the leaders of Ba Ria Vung Tau Province to implement this sports project. Mr. Hoang Vu Thanh shared more about the strategy and planning of Vung Tau City approved by the Politburo and the Government to become an international-class tourism center by 2030, with a vision to 2050. The city wishes to welcome high-class international investors and partners to develop high-class tourism according to Vietnam's policies and orientations.
During the meeting, Mr. Mitsuhiko Okada announced the schedule for donating a Jetski to the City for rescue work. Due to the delay in the export procedures from Australia, the jetski is expected to be donated to the City in November 2024.
The working group then went to survey the proposed location for the event, at a luxury resort in Vung Tau City.
